Summit Search Group is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to lead electrical system design across new and existing product lines. This key position blends design leadership with hands-on involvement in manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate brings technical depth, team mentorship, and a strong understanding of compliance standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional ready to impact product performance, safety, and efficiency across the full development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead the electrical design of HVAC systems, including control panels, wiring, and control components.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, models, and wiring diagrams using SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to a team of electrical and controls designers.
• Ensure product compliance with CSA, UL, and other certification standards through risk assessments and design reviews.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support design, manufacturing, and field service activities.
• Develop and maintain design standards, test procedures, and documentation for electrical production environments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and lead or participate in cross-functional projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Education in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
• 10+ years’ experience in electrical design for HVAC or large mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of components including motors, relays, contactors, transformers, actuators, and VFDs.
• Proficiency with logic controllers and instrumentation (PLCs, DDCs, Sensors).
• Expertise in SolidWorks Electrical and 3D (AutoCAD accepted).
• In-depth understanding of CSA, UL, and CE standards.
